The Co-operative Party has launched a major consultation process on its manifesto for the next general election. Over the next nine months, the Party will be talking to members, local parties, experts and co-operative initiatives to get ideas to build a co-operative society and help Labour achieve a fourth term.

Co-operative Party Conference 2008 takes place in in London next week, 11, 12 and 13 September, with a co-op marketplace and a big line-up of speakers including Ed Miliband, Ed Balls, Dianne Hayter, Andy Burnham, Hilary Benn and Douglas Alexander.

The Co-operative Party has launched a new campaign, The People's Rail, to give the British public real power over its rail network. We're calling on Network Rail to change the way it's run, to give real control to passengers and the public.
